Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a light massage that directs and pumps lymph fluid through main “lymph highways”. On the anterior (the front of the human body) and the Posterior (back side).

Research has shown Many types of surgeries such as knee surgeries, breast implants cosmetic surgery patients all benefit and heal in a fraction of the time compared to those who do not receive Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) massage treatments.

Manual lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is done with light pumping and circular motions that will cause the lymphatic fluid even from deep interstitial spaces to flow and relieve pressure.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) has been used prior to operations (called preoperative lymphatic drainage) has been used in Europe to reduce swelling, scarring, and bruising. Operations done with preoperative and Post-operative (MLD done after the operations)

Machines should not be used because many times they have been shown to cause more damage to the lymphatic system than good.

A thinking Human with hands that can feel and tell where the underlying problems are and adjust to the needs of the patients. Machines are insensitive and inflexible and that is why they cause damage.

Although there are many systems called Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Doctor Vodder’s Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) done by a Certified Massage Therapist, PT, or OT has been know to be the most effective way to reduce inflammation and swelling of the limbs, bruising and scarring.
